Disaster Relief

Natural disasters, wars and emergencies often hit hardest those children and families who are already living in desperate poverty. Over the past decade, the total affected by natural disasters has tripled to 2 billion.

Some 75 percent of the world's population live in areas that have been affected at least once by an earthquake, a tropical cyclone, flooding or drought between 1980 and 2000.* Samaritan's Purse is well equipped to respond immediately to humanitarian crisis with physical aid (safe water, food and shelter), giving hope for victims of war, famine, poverty and natural disasters. Through our global network we have access to prepositioned emergency supplies that can be discharged swiftly to needy areas around the world.
