Samaritan’s Purse Australia – Disaster Relief Unit (Extended)

Samaritan’s Purse is launching our purpose-built disaster relief unit, a resource that carries enough tools and equipment to mobilise 60 to 80 volunteers at a time in a disaster response. The truck has an office for coordinating the response and a workshop for maintaining equipment. Samaritan’s Purse is a second responder, entering a disaster area only when it has been declared safe and often remaining long after the SES and other first responder emergency services have completed their vital work and withdrawn. We remained in Budaberg for 3 months after Cyclone Yasi and 18 months in Kinglake after the Black Saturday Bushfires.
