National Disaster Relief

Australia/New Zealand National Disaster Relief Program 

Samaritan’s Purse is a second responder, deploying to disaster-affected communities when emergency services have declared the area safe. Our teams of volunteers equipped with tools, equipment and resources provide practical support and recovery assistance to affected families.

RESOURCES

National Disaster Relief Unit (NDRU)
The NDRU (pictured above) is a mobile command centre from which we can effectively coordinate a deployment within a disaster affected community. The truck has its own water and power supply,  site office, workshop and is equipped with sufficient tools, equipment and materials for 60 to 80 volunteers.

Bushfire Recovery
Our bushfire recovery kits help families affected by bushfires to sift through the debris, find valuable items and personal belongings and begin the road to recovery.

Flood Recovery
Mud-out kits enable volunteer teams to mud-out a home affected by flooding. The kits protect volunteers and provide the tools to demolish waterlogged walls, remove wreckage and begin the work of restoring homes to a livable condition.
