Health & Nutrition
Samaritan’s Purse builds health clinics and provides health education and a range of targeted health services for women, children and families. The health issues of people in poverty are many and women and children are especially vulnerable. By providing the right programs and facilities, we are improving the quality of life and well-being of whole communities.
Education & Vocational Training
Education provides the building blocks for a future free from poverty. One of the Millennium Development Goals is for every child to have access to quality education. Samaritan’s Purse provides vocational training and gives children access to quality education by building schools and pre-schools, providing school supplies and paying school fees.
People at Risk
Samaritan’s Purse provides aid, health care and education for victims of human trafficking, orphans, the disabled, and other vulnerable communities who struggle to survive in hostile living environments and are always at risk of being exploited.
Animals & Agriculture Livelihoods
Samaritan’s Purse provides vocational, business and subsistence farming training to help people in the world’s poorest nations develop the skills to build livelihoods, earn income, provide for their families and create a future free from poverty.
Operation Christmas Child
Good news and great joy comes to kids in poor countries who receive Operation Christmas Child gift-filled shoeboxes, packed by families, churches, schools and businesses in Australia and New Zealand every year. Operation Christmas Child is often the first step in reaching out to bring help and hope to children and communities in need.
The Greatest Journey
Children who receive a shoebox through Operation Christmas Child may participate in The Greatest Journey with the consent of their parents. This 12-lesson discipleship program teaches kids about God, faith and being a follower of Jesus Christ. At graduation, participants are presented with a Bible in their own language.
In poor nations, Samaritan’s Purse builds churches, trains church workers and provides Bible literature and other practical resources to equip and empower the local church to reach out to their community with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
